About the Artists
Francis Beaty is a mixed media artist with a passion for texture, dimension, rhythm and color. Beaty’s design and architectural background allows her to create a “third dimension” by emphasizing fluidity within material confines. For the past 40 years, she has embraced diligent design and playful exploration to produce pieces that inspire reflection and deeper inquiry. Abstract, conceptual, free-flowing and cerebral, Beaty is known for attempting new things - taking disparate elements and bringing them together to create something unique. Francis is a member of the Global Arts Project (GAP) - an international mixed-media collaborative project. She has recently completed residences at GAP - Crossing Borders in Ghent, Belgium and at Christine Chateau Campadieu residency in Ille-sur-Tet, France. Selected solo exhibitions include: Lift Off, Coburn Gallery at Ashland University, Ashland OH; Nine, Crayola Gallery-Banana Factory, Bethlehem, PA; Flashback, Williams Center Gallery, Lafayette College, Easton, PA. . She resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Jessica Zawadowicz graduated from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia in 2019 with a BFA degree with a concentration in Drawing and Painting. She was a recipient of Trustee Scholarship (2015-2019), a Distinguished Honors Scholar Award, Corzo Center Emerging Artist award, and other prestigious awards. Her large scale figurative paintings deal with the internal and external nature of oneself, while investigating the dialogue between the two. Her smaller still life paintings are saturated with color and are full of dynamic fluidity, and create memorable and contemplative imagery. Jessica has recently participated in exhibitions at The University of the Arts, the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and Asian Arts Initiative. She has exhibited work internationally at Santa Reparata International School of Art, Florence, Italy, and the Burren College of Art, Ballyvaughan, Ireland. She currently lives and works in Philadelphia, PA.
