The Artillerie Group is pleased to announce Human Trace, an exhibition of works by Philadelphia based, internationally-renowned artist Arcenio Martin Campos. This exhibition will be a nearly comprehensive presentation of Campos' figurative drawings and paintings. It will showcase a survey of over thirty artworks, ranging from intimate pastel drawings to abstract oil paintings. In his work, Campos is inspired by the personal and contemplative quality of Johannes Vermeer's small paintings and by Egon Schiele's raw and intense depiction of human figure.
Arcenio Martin Campos attended New Mexico State University for studio arts, the University of New Mexico for art history, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts for painting. As a child, he began drawing on his own, and acquired much of his fine art education outside formal schooling from independent study and private instruction. Mr. Campos has given master classes on figure drawing and painting throughout the United States and overseas, including Ireland, South Africa, and New Zealand. His work has received numerous awards and has been exhibited throughout the United States and abroad. Mr. Campos teaches at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Fleisher Art Memorial, the Washington Studio School, and the Wayne Art Center.
